Dennis K. Shipley

Dennis K. Shipley, 70, of Mendon, Pa. died Monday December 3, 2018 at the Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pa. He was born February 22, 1948 in Ruffsdale, Pa. Son of the late Harrold N. and Bertha Pearl Lynn Shipley. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a brick layer up until he suffered a stroke in 1998. Dennis loved hunting with his family, especially with his brother in law Dave Sethman. He also enjoyed traveling and game nights with the family. He was preceded in death by both parents, wife of 46 years Evelyn Sethman Shipley, four brothers – Richard Lynn, Robert, Bill and Jerry Shipley and three sisters – Dorothy Sanner, Jane Dunlap and Darlene Gwynn. He is survived by two sons – Dennis K. Shipley II and wife Sherry of Mendon, Pa. and Jason H. Shipley and wife Shelly of Mendon, Pa., six grandchildren – Adam and fiancé Elise, Ashley, Matthew, Mark, Zachary and Seth, two great grandchildren – Easton and Isabelle, two brothers – Louis Shipley and wife Betty of Scottdale and Thomas Shipley of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., one sister – Gloria Waywood of Wyano, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday December 6, 2018 from 3-9 pm at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 in Madison, Pa. An additional viewing will take place Friday December 7, 2018 from 10:30-11 am time of service at the Bible Alliance Church 1300 Mt. Pleasant Rd. West Newton, Pa. with Pastor Frank Todoro officiating. A private interment will take place at the Hoffman Cemetery in Smithton, Pa.
