Dorothy Jean (Hoffer) Ritenour

Dorothy J. Hoffer Ritenour, 94, of Arona, Pa. died Friday, June 29, 2018 in Greensburg, Pa. She was born September 5, 1923 in Arona, Pa. Daughter of the late Jerome and Pearl E. Higgins Hoffer. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Arona, Pa. She loved spending time with her family as well as playing cards and baking. She is preceded in death by both parents, Husband Paul R. Ritenour, three daughters; Joan Smith (Dan), Phyllis Stoner (Pete), and Betty Mensch (Dale). Two grandsons, Danny Smith and Duane Mensch and One great grandson Dillon Smith. One brother Alan J. Hoffer. Two sisters, Esther Mae Reamer and Elsie Johnston. She is survived by Eight grandchildren; Randy Stoner, Kevin Stoner, Missy Shaffer, Dale Mensch Jr., Dean Mensch, Dale Smith, Debbie Collins and David Smith. Nine great grandchildren and 7 Great great grandchildren. Two brothers, Thomas J. Hoffer and wife Carol of New Stanton, Pa. and Robert Hoffer and wife Judy of Madison, Pa. One sister Edna Zimmerman and husband Keith of Arona, Pa. And a very special thanks to Son-in-law Pete Stoner for all the care he gave to Jean. Friends will be received from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Route 136 Main St. Madison, Pa.. Services will be held at 8pm on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Sam L. Scheiderer officiating.
