Franklin J. ("Sonny") Bowman

Franklin J. (Sonny) Bowman, 81, of Yukon, Pa. died Monday May 20, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 5, 1937 in Yukon, Pa. Son of the late Bruce B. and Mary C. Duzyk Bowman. He was a tank driver for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then went on to be self-employed in the construction industry. Franklin loved fishing, hunting, picking berries, cutting grass and cook outs. He often enjoyed going to his friends hunting camps, loved the Pirates, The Steelers and his polkas. He is proceeded in death by both parents and a brother – William Pete Bowman. He is survived by a son – Ronald Bowman and wife Kim of Greensburg, Pa., two daughters – Lynda Dunmire of Ruffsdale, Pa. and Leslie Dunmire and significant other Bob Brush of Madison, Pa., three grandchildren – Dakota Dunmire, Ryan Dunmire and Hailey Bowman. Step-Son Bob Dunmire of Madison, Pa. and one very special caretaker – Darsey Bevilaqua. Friends will be received on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, Pa from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Services will be held at 10 am on Friday May 24, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Sweet officiating. Interment will follow at the Twin Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Delmont, Pa with the Armbrust Veterans accorded.
