Gerald V. Cochran, 83, of Arona, Pa. died Thursday May 24, 2018 at his home. He was born July 13, 1934 in Mendon, Pa. Son of the late Jesse and Nellie Clegg Cochran. He served in the U.S. Airforce as an Air Police Officer. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a steel worker at U.S. Steel in Duquesne, Pa. He was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church. He loved to go fishing and camping, reading his bible, volunteering and church ministry at Baldock Nursing Home, and absolutely loved to go to church. He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife Jane A. Sinnamond Cochran of 43 years, son Dan L. Cochran (2011), a granddaughter Jaimee K. Geary Hernandez and one sister Jean Hutchinson. He is survived by two sons – Jeff L. Cochran and significant-other Terri Rhoades of Derry, Pa. and Tim J. Cochran and wife Kathy of Ruffsdale, Pa., two daughters, Pam Foster and husband Allan of Yukon, Pa. and Kimberly A. Geary Tomich and husband Ron Jaffre of Arona, Pa., ten grandchildren, John, David, Rachael, Bert III, Krystal, Chelsea, Zachary, Aidan and Rickie, three great grandchildren, Viktor, Arianna and Jacey, and his little buddy Peanut. Four brothers, Bill Cochran of Oklahoma, Jack Cochran and wife Janie of Herminie, Pa., John Cochran and wife Doris of Oklahoma and Butch Cochran of Grapeville, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews. A special and loving thank you to Dave Kristoff and grandson Christopher, Bert Ray 2nd and Cyndi Gongaware. Friends will be received, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Tuesday May 29, 2018 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home Inc. Rt 136 Madison, Pa. Services will be held Wednesday May 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Ross officiating. A private interment will follow at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, Pa.
