Howard E. Anthony

Howard E. Anthony, 92, of Latrobe, Pa. died Monday December 24, 2018 at The Grove in Latrobe, Pa. He was born May 22, 1926 in Clymer, Pa. Son of the late Kathern Anthony. After high school, Howard enlisted in the United States Navy and was ranked a coxswain. After the military, he went on to become a coal miner at the Banning Coal Mine, where he worked until retirement. He was a member of the VFW Post 7812 of West Newton, Pa. He is preceded in death by both parents, wife Helen Strader Anthony and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by three sons – Richard Anthony and wife Carol of Arona, Pa., Mark Anthony and wife Susan of Emporium, Pa. and Neil Whiting of Arona, Pa., one daughter – Tanya Thom of Salt Lake City, UT., seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There will be a private interment at the Newton Cemetery in Emporium, Pa. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, Pa. in charge of arrangements.
