James Sterner Obituary

 

 

James M. Sterner, 71, of Ruffsdale, Pa., went to heaven on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pa. He was born April 19, 1947 in Greensburg, Pa. Son of the late James E. and Hazel V. Martin Sterner. He was a graduate of the Rostraver High School class of 1965. He attended the DELAWARE VALLEY college for two years and then went on to join the U.S. Army. James was self-employed owning an excavating company and was a very hard worker. He loved playing the mountain dulcimer with his Wash House Band. He enjoyed wood working and one of the loves of his life was his dog Sophie. He is proceeded in death by both parents and one son – James P. Sterner. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Janet Timko Sterner of Ruffsdale, Pa., one son – Tom M. Sterner of Ruffsdale, Pa., two brothers – Lee Sterner of Woodstock, VA. And Richard Sterner and wife Karen of East Berlin, Pa. One sister – Nancy Paul of Greensburg, Pa. Several Nieces and one nephew. A memorial service and interment will take place at The Bells Mills Cemetery in West Newton, Pa. at a later date to be announced. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc.
