Martin Altenbaugh Obituary

 

 

Martin C. Altenbaugh, 75, of Ruffs Dale, Pa., formally a long time resident of Manor, Pa., died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Excela Health Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 21, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Son of the late Charles M. and Janice E. Foster Altenbaugh. He graduated from former Penn Joint High School in Claridge, Pa. He then went on to become a surveyor for the Allegheny Power Co. where he worked for 25yrs. Martin was a life time member of the Manor VFD. He was a member of the NRA as well as the Mohawks. He became the Secretary for the Westmoreland County Fire Chiefs Association where he served for more than 30 years. He was a teacher at the St. Vincent Fire School. Martin Loved to go hunting and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman. One of his passions were hot rods and loved hot rods so much that he collected every Hot Rod magazine to date that was produced. Martin is preceded in death by both parents. A sister Marlene Cox and a brother in law Dale Cox. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Ramona Chepes Altenbaugh of Ruffs Dale, Pa. Step Son Brian Grizzle and wife Kimberly of Terra Alta, WV. Step daughter Kristy Riddle of Ruffs Dale, Pa. Two grand daughters Sienna and Summer Smitley and two grand sons David Lohr and Steven Lohr of Masontown, Pa. A great granddaughter Aubry Lohr and a nephew Scott Cox of Manor, Pa. A Memorial Service will be held for Martin at a later date. Interment will be private. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
