Mary A. (McGann) Welch

Mary A. McGann Welch, 59, of Smithton, Pa. died Monday February 18, 2019 at the Excela Health Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. She was born August 27, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Daughter of the late Ralph E. and Bernice M. Koscelek. After graduating high school, Mary went on to work for The Census Bureau as a case worker. She was a member of The Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary was a very family-oriented person. She loved to travel to Nagshead Beach in North Carolina. She was very fond of cooking and baking during the holidays, as well as being known to love a donut and a burger every now and then. During her life, she raised chickens, pigs and turkeys. And also managed the family business, Welch Yard Man Lawn Services. She is preceded in death by both parents, a nephew – James J. Dzubay, a brother in law – Tommy Welch, a mother in law – Rhoda Rae Welch and father in law – Willburn L. Welch Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years – Rickey A. Welch of Smithton, Pa., one son – Allen Welch and wife Holly of New Eagle, Pa., one daughter – Sarah B. Welch of Youngwood, Pa., six grandchildren – Katriona Welch, Ariana Welch, Aurora Welch, Zander Vivio, Bianca Welch and Carina Welch, one brother – Michael McGann of Newkensington, Pa., one sister – Elaine M. Dzubay and husband John of Greensburg, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will take place Thursday February 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc.
