Agnes Scourich Cochenour, 99, of Yukon, PA passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Transitions Health Care in Irwin, PA. She was born November 20, 1921 in Renton, PA. Daughter of the late John and Anna Paulic Scourich. Agnes was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Yukon, PA as well as the Croatian Federal Union of America Lodge 432. Her first job was at Westinghouse East in Pittsburgh, PA during WWII where she worked as an assembler. She then went on to work numerous other jobs including a sewing factory in Norvelt, PA, the Clark Candybar factory, she was a cook at the Modern Tearoom in Greensburg, PA, she baked and cooked for Carlson's, she was the head chef for McCorley's in the former Greengate Mall and Howard Johnson's. Agnes loved and was great at cooking and baking. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was very family-oriented, loved her religion; watching EWTN daily and her pets – Cocoa and Buster. She was very proud of her heritage; listening to Tamburica music and always looked forward to attending Croatian Day at Kennywood park. She is preceded in death by both parents, loving husband of 49 years – Dennis T. Cochenour Sr. and one sister – Anna Zgurich. She is survived by one son – Dennis J. Cochenour Jr. of Yukon, PA, one daughter – Marian Trice of Greensburg, PA, five grandchildren – Jessica Cochenour and Chad of West Newton, PA, Desiree Willtrout and husband Brandon of Connellsville, PA, Rebecca Ringer and husband Rob of Connellsville, PA, Thomas M. Stanish and wife of Jeannette, PA and Anna M. McGill and Raymond of Greensburg, PA, six great grandchildren – Hayden, Hunter, Heather, Holly, Marissa and Sarah and several nieces and nephews. A private visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. Followed by a private service at the funeral home with Deacon Bob Stauffer officiating. A private interment will follow at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home and social distancing is required.
