Berniece L. Goldsworthy, 79, of New Stanton, PA, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Walnut Ridge Memory Care in Greensburg, PA. She was born July 19, 1942 in Greensburg, PA. Daughter of the late George and Matilda (Rosensteel) Sanner. She was a graduate of Hempfield High School Class of 1960. She worked and retired from Hempfield School District as a food service manager for 24 years. Berniece was a member at Seanor’s St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Stanton, PA. She was very involved in her church; teaching vacation bible school and working as secretary for many years. She also volunteered as a book reader at the Greensburg Library. Berniece was a very family oriented, strong and independent woman. She loved being around people. She loved ceramics, cross stitching, puzzles, gardening and canning. She enjoyed baking and cooking and was known for her zucchini appetizers and pizza spaghetti. She collected lighthouses, listened to classic rock and enjoyed going out to eat with her friends from church and work. She enjoyed traveling; starting with rides with her husband and children, annual trips to Ocean City, Disney World, Gettysburg and going to the cabin in Venango County/Potter County. She liked to play many games with her husband especially Cribbage. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 54 years – Clayton T. Goldsworthy and brother – Richard V. Sanner. She is survived by two sons – Stephen (Valerie) Goldsworthy of West Newton, PA and Thomas (significant other Kim) Goldsworthy of Nebraska, one daughter – Susan Goldsworthy of New Stanton, PA, eight grandchildren – Kevin (fiancé Shawna) Brinker of West Newton, PA, Jessica (Raymond) Szypulski of Ruffsdale, PA, George (Melissa) Brinker of New Stanton, PA, Victoria Goldsworthy of New Stanton, PA, Michael Ramirez, Kayla Langevin, Robert (Erin) Goldsworthy and Matthew Goldsworthy and twelve great grandchildren – Madison, Daniel, Lia, Jenna, Braden, Brendon, Nick, Nyla, Lay’lah, Jai’lah, Raheem and Jailaiya. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Sweet officiating. Interment will follow at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County. 139 Humane Society Rd, Greensburg, Pa. 15601. Masks are highly recommended to be worn at all times while in the funeral home.
