Betty June (Mensch) Davis

Betty June Mensch Davis, 88, of New Stanton, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Oak Hill Healthcare in Greensburg, PA. She was born June 5, 1932 in Sweet Hill, PA. Daughter of the late Ervin and Ruth Fox Mensch. Betty was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School Class of 1950. She attended Seton Hill University and received a BSA in 1953. She then went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh where she received a Degree in Nursing in 1960. She worked as a nurse at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA for 10 years followed by retiring from the State Department of Health as a nurse after 26 years of service. Betty was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church in Greensburg, PA for over 40 years. Betty loved to travel and visited many places with her husband, including New England, Jamestown and Williamsburg. She enjoyed crocheting and loved flowers. She loved to help people and touched many lives in her nursing and public health visits with families at their homes.She is preceded in death by both parents and one sister-in-law – Betty Mensch. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years – Ernest Davis of New Stanton, PA, one brother – Dale Mensch of Middletown, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 – 7 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A service will be held at the funeral home at 7 pm with Pastor Chris Morris officiating. A private interment will take place at the Middletown United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday, February 8, 2021. In compliance with the CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only 20 people will be permitted at one time into the funeral home. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home and social distancing is required. Anyone wishing to come into the funeral home for visitation is required to stay in their vehicle until allowed to enter the funeral home by a parking lot attendant. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions to be made to Middletown United Methodist Church 1050 Middletown Rd. Greensburg PA 15601-6435. Ernest would like to thank nephew, Dale Jr. for all the love and compassionate care he showed us over the years.
