Carol J. (Stickel) Palicka

Carol J. (Stickel) Palicka, 85, of New Stanton, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Independence Health in Greensburg, PA. She was born August 4, 1938 in White Oak, PA. Daughter of the late William Russell and Ottilie M. (Ehrhardt) Stickel. She graduated from McKeesport High School Class of 1957. Carol worked as a clerk for Prudential for 7 years, as well as HCSC Laundry folding and loading hospital laundry carts. She was a past member of the Eastern Star in Greensburg, PA. Carol loved the outdoors. She enjoyed watching birds from her window and hunting and fishing with her husband. She enjoyed watching the Steeler’s, playing Scrabble and doing the crossword puzzle. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, competed in several Powder Puff demolition derbies and enjoyed square dancing with her husband. She is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Bill and Norman “Dutch” and sisters, Norma Diehl and Katherine Engster. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Daniel T. Palicka of New Stanton, PA; son, Martin Paul (Rebecca) Palicka of Alum Bank, PA; daughter, Louise M. (Michael) Teson of Sinking Spring, PA; grandchildren, Jacob, Skylee, Joseph, Sara and Hannah; brothers, Reed (Patricia) Stickel of Bedford, PA and Dale (Eleanor) Stickel of Bedford, PA and twenty-six nieces and nephews.
