Charles F. “Woody” Hildenbrand, 86, of Madison, PA passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Transitions Health Care in North Huntingdon, PA. He was born October 23, 1934 in McKeesport, PA. Son of the late Harry C. and Martha (Jellison) Hildenbrand. Charles was a graduate of North Huntingdon High School Class of 1953. He was self-employed and worked as a carpenter with his brother for many years. Charles worked and retired from Precision Defense Services where he worked in maintenance. Charles was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church in Madison, PA for 53 years. He loved to spend time with his family. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life. He liked to go to the mountains with his family; hunting and fishing in Potter County. He enjoyed wood working and made furniture that his wife sold at craft shows. He enjoyed watching sports including the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and loved to golf. He is preceded in death by both parents, one grandson – Shawn M. (Hooter) Hildenbrand and five brothers – Dean, Jack, Bob, Bill and Les. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years – Nancy K. (Long) Hildenbrand of Madison, PA, one daughter - Sharon (Lou) Zumbro of West Newton, PA, five sons – Robert (Cindy) Hildenbrand of Madison, PA, Charles Jr. of Herminie, PA, Harry Hildenbrand of Ruffsdale, PA, Richard (Paula) Hildenbrand of West Newton, PA and Leslie (Dawn) Hildenbrand of North Huntingdon, PA, eight grandchildren – Emily (Mike) Ray, Katie (Dan) Giancola, Larissa (James) King, Jessica (Chris) Rindt, Brooke Hildenbrand, Lyndsey (Matt) Casula, Jenna Hildenbrand and Josh Malkos and three great grandchildren – Weston Ray, Riley Giancola and Oliver Giancola. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 4 – 8 pm at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Randy Sweet officiating. Interment will be private. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dawn and Jennifer at Redstone Hospice for the loving and compassionate care provided to Charles during this difficult time.
