Clara L. (Oravik) Zulian

Clara L. (Oravik) Zulian, 90, of Yukon, PA passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Apple Blossom Senior Living in Moon Twp, PA. She was born October 5, 1930 in Yukon, PA., daughter of the late Andrew B. and Paulina (Gajdosik) Oravik. Clara was a graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1947. Upon graduation, she went on to work at Jeannette Glass Factory for several years. Clara was a lifetime member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Yukon, PA. She was a charter member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and served as Secretary for over 15 years. She was very active in the church; as a Eucharistic Minister, lector, and founding member of the gardening club. Clara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was happiest outside working in her vegetable and flower gardens or baking pies and apple strudel for family and friends. Clara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Aldo P. Zulian, two sons, Aldo Zulian Jr. and Andrew Zulian, six sisters and three brothers.  Clara is survived by three daughters, Dolores Zulian and husband Stanley Baranowski of Woodbridge, VA, Donna Cooper and husband David of Sewickley, PA and Andrea Ellis and husband Michael of Buckhannon, WV.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Valentina Christopher and husband Simon of Kampala, Uganda, Chelsea Sloneker and husband John of New York, NY, Zachary Cooper of Gibsonia, PA, Michael Ellis and wife Laura of West End, NC, and Alexander Ellis of Fairmont, WV. Clara is also survived by five great grandchildren, Victoria Christopher, Lola Sloneker, Campbell, Deacon and Margaret Ellis. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 4 – 8 pm at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A rosary service will be held at the funeral home at 4:30 PM with the Seven Dolors Confraternity of Christian Mothers. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11 AM with Fr. Richard Ulam, O.S.B. officiating. Those of you wishing to attend the mass are asked to go directly to the church, 102 Center St. Yukon, PA 15698. Interment will follow at the Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery in Yukon, PA.
