Dale Irvin Mensch Sr.

Dale Irvin Mensch Sr., 80, of New Stanton, PA, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born April 8, 1941 in Swede Hill, PA. Son of the late Irvin Frances and Ruth (Fox) Mensch Woodward. Dale was a graduate of Hempfield High School and then went on to work and retire from DME in Youngwood, PA as a machinist after 42 years. Dale was involved in his community; coaching Little League and Colt League for Hempfield Recreation, as well as being President for the Middletown Community Center. He was a hard worker; at times working two jobs to provide for his family. Dale enjoyed going camping, fishing and hunting with his children in their younger years; camping at several state parks as well as his father-in-law’s cabin and property near Indian Head PA.”. He liked to listen to country music and enjoyed watching the Pirates. He is preceded in death by both parents, his loving wife of 42 years – Betty (Ritenour) Mensch, one son – Duane S. Mensch, one sister – Betty (Mensch) Davis, three step-brothers – William Woodward Jr., John Allen Woodward and James R. Woodward and one step-sister – Louise Woodward. He is survived by two sons – Dale (Gretchen) Mensch Jr. of Plum, PA and Dean A. Mensch of New Stanton, PA, two brothers – Barry (Doreen) Woodward of Phoenix, AZ and Ted (Joann) Woodward of Greensburg, PA and one brother-in-law – Ernest Davis. Friends will be received on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 4 – 7 pm at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Samuel Schiederer officiating. Interment will be private. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, PO Box 103 Arona, PA 15617.
