David E. Overdorff

David E. Overdorff Sr., 67, of Ruffsdale, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born July 25, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Son of Theresa (Christie) Overdorff and the late Jack Overdorff Sr. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1973. He was owner and operator since 1988 of Dave’s Butcher Supply in Yukon, PA. David was a lifetime member of the Youngwood Hunt Club, the Slovenian Hall in Yukon, PA, PAMP (Pennsylvania Association of Meat Processors), AAMP (The American Association of Meat Processors), NRA (National Rifle Association) and SCI (Safari Club International). David was a very hard worker who loved his job. He enjoyed his annual trip to Africa to go safari hunting for over 35 types of animals. He enjoyed listening to oldies music and Bob Sieger. He is preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother, loving wife of 46 years - Gwendolyn (Brady) Overdorff of Ruffsdale, PA, son - David Overdorff II, brothers – Dan Overdorff and Jack Overdorff Jr, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 grand niece and 3 grand nephews. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM at the Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery in Yukon, PA with Fr. Vincent Yee-Concepcione officiating. Anyone wishing to attend the Funeral Service for David is asked to go directly to the cemetery. Interment will follow.
