Diana “Diney” J. (Fry) Chesky, 75, of Madison, PA, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. She was born October 22, 1945 in Greensburg, PA. Daughter of the late Charles F. and Elizabeth G. (Brunot) Fry. Diana was a graduate of Hempfield High School. She then went on to receive her license to become a hair dresser. She was the owner and operator of Sassy Scissors in Madison, PA.Diney enjoyed working in her garden, hosting holiday dinners at her home with her family and attending local festivals. She enjoyed listening to country music and was a big fan of Bob Dylan; attending one of his concerts and having a front row seat to the performance. She was a great baker and was well known for making delicious nut rolls, cheesecakes and fudge. Diney loved to travel and made many trips with her husband to places all over; including Dominican Republic, Mexico, traveling up the coast of CA, Japan to visit her son and her favorite place of all – Cape Hatteras. She is preceded in death by both parents, one brother – Frederick Fry and loving companion - Olive. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years – James W. Chesky of Madison, PA, two sons – Ronald D. Hoffman and fiancé Shari Carter of Irwin, PA and Matthew E. Hoffman and wife Julie of Lonaconing, MD, one Step daughter – Jennifer E. Glister of Greensburg, PA, four grandchildren – Jocelyn, Bailey, Andrew and Abbey, seven great grandchildren, one brother – John C. Fry and wife Anita of Irwin, PA and her best friend and sister – Elizabeth E. Wagman of Jeannette, PA; who she talked to every day for 30 years. A private memorial service will be held at Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA with Fr. Vincent A. Yee-Concepcion officiating. – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A celebration of life will be held at a later date yet to be announced. Interment will be private.
