Dorothy A. (Waltz) Hixson

Dorothy A. Hixson, 85, of Wyano, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1936 in Waltz Mill, PA. Daughter of the late Jacob C. and Maisie M. (Summers) Waltz. Dorothy was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School Class of 1954. She was an active lifetime member of the Wyano United Methodist Church in Wyano, PA. Dorothy was a kind, soft spoken woman who loved her family immensely. She enjoyed being at home; cooking, baking and tending to her flower garden. She liked doing jigsaw and Sudoku puzzles and word finds. She visited many state parks with her family; including the Promised Land in the Pocono’s. She had very musically talented children and enjoyed listening to them play their instruments. She is preceded in death by both parents, loving husband of 58 years - William B. Hixson and one sister – Betty Crawford. She is survived by four children - Larry Hixson and wife Dawn of West Newton, PA, David Hixson of Ruffsdale, PA, Sharon Fox and husband James of Wyano, PA and Eric Hixson and wife Sally of West Newton, PA, five grandchildren – Jesse Hixson and wife Nina, Austin Hixson and wife Amanda, Perren Parker, Blaine Hixson and Deaglan Hixson, two great grandchildren - Arlo Hixson and Blair Hixson, one brother – Robert Hixson of Ruffsdale, PA, two sisters – Connie Sechrist of Ruffsdale, PA and Kathy Kucinic and husband Paul of Wyano, PA. A private visitation and service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD - Rev. Randy Sweet officiating. A private interment will follow at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA.
