Dorothy Ann (Weaver) Truswell, 99, of West Newton, PA, passed away peacefully Monday, November 7, 2022 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. She was born December 28, 1922 in Sewickley Township, PA. Daughter of the late Charles Otis and Bertha May (Fisher) Weaver. Dorothy was born and raised on the family farm, where they raised chickens. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and crafts. And loved making bed quilts for all the family and baby blankets for all the grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and had a huge vegetable garden that held 150 tomato plants that she canned for the winter. She was a sweet and feisty woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. And listening to old country music. She is preceded in death by both parents, loving husband of 40+ years that she married on October 4th, John Henry Truswell; three sons, Jack, John Jr. and Henry Otis Truswell; two daughters, Joan H. Bish and Barb E. Hoffman; two grandchildren, Charles E. Bish and Paul John Bish (PJ); two brothers, Sam and Harry Truswell; infant twin sister and son-in-law, Lawrence Scollon. She is survived by daughter, Sandra L. Scollon of Ruffsdale, PA, 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Lick Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, PA.
