Earl R. Neal, 85, of Madison, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Independence Health in Greensburg, PA. He was born December 30, 1937 in Yukon, PA. Son of the late Horace Tyndale and V. Jane (Bartrom) Neal. He graduated 3rd in his class from South Huntingdon High School Class of 1955; where he was on the basketball team and played clarinet in the marching band. Earl served six years in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He went on to attend and receive his BS in Social Studies and English from IUP. As well as, an Associate’s Degree from the Institute of Banking through Robert Morris College. Earl worked and retired from PNC Bank (formerly the People’s National Bank) as an Assistant Manager after 27 years of service. He loved to read non-fiction and Christian books, spending many hours in nearby bookstores and building his book collection at home. He had his lay pastor’s license, as well as his private pilot’s license. Earl was a very active man. He enjoyed driving his snowmobile, motor boat, RV and BMW and Honda motorcycles. He enjoyed boating at Deep Creek, MD with family and friends. Earl was also an avid traveler. He pulled a travel trailer to many states with his family over the years. He is preceded in death by both parents and brother, Edgar Neal. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna F. (Higgins) Neal of Madison, PA; daughters, Melissa (significant other John VanDyke) Beckner of Madison, PA and Amanda (Doug) Creider of Winston Salem, NC; grandchildren, Nicholas Beckner, JD Creider and Ellie Creider; great grandson, Aron Beckner; brother, Donald (Sharon) Neal of Melbourne, FL; sister, Priscilla Neal of Madison, PA; sister-in-law, Helen Neal of Maryland and niece and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 – 5 pm and 7 – 9 pm on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA.
