Florence L. (Mlinek) Rhodes

Florence L. (Mlinek) Rhodes, 86, of Ruffsdale, PA, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at RNC in Greensburg, PA. She was born January 31, 1935 in Wyano, PA. Daughter of the late Martin and Eva (Zowada) Mlinek. Florence was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School Class of 1953. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a wonderful wife; never missing having dinner on the table for her husband. She liked going to the casino, playing bingo and listening to country music. She enjoyed cooking and baking; entering bread and other baked goods into the local fairs to which she received many blue ribbons from the Sewickley, Bull Skin and Harrold Township Fairs. She is preceded in death by both parents, two sisters – Dorothy Mlinek (infant) and Joanne Waller and two brothers – Ronald and Edward Mlinek. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years – Vaughn Rhodes of Ruffsdale, PA, two daughters - Karen J. (Dave) Kulis of New Stanton, PA and Cynthia (Stan) Homer of New Stanton, PA, two brothers – John Mlinek of Wyano, PA and Robert (Chris) Mlinek of Mendon, PA, three sisters – Francis Riddle of Greensburg, PA, Lorreta Foster of Lowber, PA and Caroline Daum of Fort Myers, FL, three grandchildren – Dave Kulis, Brandon Homer and Nicole Homer, three great grandchildren – Alyssa Kulis, Brody Kulis and Delaney Homer and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church Cemetery in Yukon, PA. Masks are highly recommended to be worn while in the funeral home.
