Geraldine B. (Myers) Haines

Geraldine B. (Myers) Haines, 93, of West Newton, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 31, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Daughter of the late James S. and Nettie O. (Zufall) Myers. Geraldine was a member of the First Church of God in West Newton, PA; serving in their primary department for many years. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid animal lover and enjoyed quilting with a group of women through the Wyano Church. She is preceded in death by both parents and loving husband Winfield Lee Haines; six sisters, Olive L. Shaffer, Fern E. Downs, Elma J. Kurtz, Thelma Mae Myers, Cora Jeane Hribal, Mary I. Andrews and two brothers, Earl R. Myers and William J. Myers. She is survived by children, Howard L. Haines, Sharon D. Tedesco (James) and Gloria D. Haines; grandchildren, Zachary S. Haines, Cindy R. Manski (Andy), Rachel E. Tedesco and Sarah L. Springer (Todd); one sister, Donna J. Bair; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Brightwell (Marie Hustek); and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Beth Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow at the West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Geraldine’s memory to Wildlife Works, Inc., 836 Chestnut St, Youngwood, PA 15697.
