Grace Todd Obituary

Grace E. Fox Todd, 91, of New Stanton, PA, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 30, 1930 in Arona, PA. Daughter of the late Calvin J. and Laura (Henry) Fox. From an early age Grace was a hard worker; delivering newspapers throughout her small town of Arona and cleaning the postmaster’s home. She often walked up to her grandparent’s farm just outside of Arona to help her grandmother tend to her garden. Grace was a graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1948. Upon graduation, she began her first real job as a waitress at the New Stanton Howard Johnson’s on the Turnpike, where she met the love of her life and future husband, a young marine Curtis F. Todd. In her later years she enjoyed being a seamstress, baking and traveling with her husband on many adventures. Grace was a longtime member of the Middletown United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and often filled-in playing the organ. She played the piano for various organizations and was a member of Jeannette Court No. 25 Order of the Amaranth and Eastern Star, Jeannette, PA. Grace loved to cook and bake and was known for her amazing apple pies and coconut cream pies. Grace was a talented seamstress; frequently making and altering clothes for family and friends. She was well known for making hundreds of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that were sent all over the country. She is preceded in death by both of her parent; her loving husband of 58 years – Curtis F. Todd; brothers – Jim, Bud, Gerald and Tommy Fox and two sisters – Beatrice Wise and Doris Fox. She is survived by one son – Wayne (Debbie) Todd of New Stanton, PA and one daughter – Dianne (William) Wallace of New Stanton, PA; two sisters – Nancy (John) Lynn of Arona, PA and Sarah Burns of Arlington, Iowa and three grandchildren – Travis Todd, Daniel (Carissa) Wallace and Dustin (Val) Wallace, two great-grandchildren – Liam and Jax Wallace.
