James L. Monnick, 81, of Yukon, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Independence Health System in Greensburg, PA. He was born May 30, 1942 in Yukon, PA. Son of the late Lewis and Norma (Hensberger) Monnick. He graduated from South Huntingdon High School Class of 1962. James worked and retired as a truck driver from Nutrition in West Newton, PA. He had over 20 years of truck driving experience including PFX in Belle Vernon, PA. He was a member of Mosquito Creeks Sportsmen’s Association and was a 50+ year member in the Yukon Fire Department. James enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing and hunting at Yukon Camp in Clearfield, PA with his friends and family. He was always involved in his grandchildren’s lives; especially watching and attending all of their sporting events. James loved to drive and travel and was lovingly known as “Papquest”. He and his wife, Vickie, enjoyed going to their camp in Franklin, PA; fishing and riding bikes. They liked attending the county fair together, going dancing and traveling to Niagara Falls. He loved country music, building puzzles and 1957 Chevy’s. He is preceded in death by both parents and survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Vickie (Penska) Monnick of Yukon, PA; daughters, Lori (Tim) Davis of MS, Tammy (Mickey) Jupin of Yukon, PA, Janet Craig of Jeannette, PA and Sharon (Eugene) Fink of Yukon, PA; sons, Dave E. (Nanette) Bell of Acme, PA, Daniel Bell of CA and Stephen (Tara) Bell of Jeannette, PA; sister, Mary T. (Mike) Massari of Mt. Pleasant, PA and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2–4 pm and 6–8 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Green officiating. A private interment will take place at Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA.
