James P. Sasso Sr., 85, of Madison, PA passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born May 5, 1936 in Slickville, PA. Son of the late John Sr. and Helen (Chuma) Sasso. A journeyman Tool & Die Maker, Jim received his apprenticeship through the Penn State Tool & Die. He was the founder of Sasso Machine Company, owner and operator for 56 years. During his service in the Army Jim served as a Military Police officer. Jim enjoyed his family and friends, Nascar, gardening, anything country and his pets, Rocky and Shine. He is preceded in death by both parents, and siblings John, ralph, Joe, Genevieve (Best, Harrison) and Franny Dougherty. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years – Susan (Embs) Sasso of Madison; two sons – Jimmy P. Sasso Jr. and wife Mindy of Madison and Matthew Sasso and wife Netty of Lincoln Heights. He has three grandchildren – Brandon Chase and wife Taylor, Kendra “KINDRA” and fiancé ZacK and ANNY. He has two great-grandchildren – Evelyn and Jaxtyn James. He is survived by one brother – Eugene and wife Linda of Greensburg and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received from 7 – 9 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A private funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the funeral home with Fr. Vincent Yee-Concepcion officiating. Interment will be private in Jims request at the madison Union Cemetery, madison, Pa. with full military honors by the Armbrust Veterans. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made in Jim’s memory to St. Edward Church, 120 St. Edwards Ln, Herminie, PA 15637. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home.
