Jeffrey J. Tomay, 44, of McKeesport, PA, passed away tragically in a car accident on Sunday, February 14, 2021 in North Huntingdon, PA. He was born August 15, 1976 in Charleroi, PA. Son of John T. and Marsha Tomay of Yukon, PA. Jeffrey was a graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School Class of 1994. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Jeff trained and became an executive chef at Chesterfield’s in Irwin, PA under Chef Braun. He then went on to work for Rodney’s in Irwin, PA and Cafe Supreme in Irwin, PA. After many years of service as an executive chef, he became a tree cutter with his brother for Vasko’s Tree Service in Irwin, PA, as well as working for The Tree Wise Men Tree Service in McKeesport, PA. Jeff loved his job and being able to work alongside his brother. Jeff had an infectious laugh, was always happy and enjoyed life. He enjoyed going fishing and was interested in the Kecksburg UFO incident. He was a fan of the Denver Bronco’s and John Elway was his hero. In his younger years, he played midget football and would play baseball with his friends for fun in the summer time. He is preceded in death by his biological mother – Marcy J. Boyd, paternal grandfather – John R. Tomay and maternal grandparents – Bernard “Bernie” and Sally Boyd and his loving companion - Indy. He is survived by his loving parents, one brother – Scott Tomay and significant other Wendy Keenan of McKeesport, PA, three sisters – Jessica Salvatore of Manassas, VA and Amy Salvatore Wojdyla and husband Jaison of Chesapeake, VA and Monica Stunja of Lemoyne, PA, paternal grandmother – Dolores J. Tomay of Rostraver, PA, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and special friend – Amy Cole. Friends will be received on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 3 – 5 pm and 7 – 9 pm at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A private service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 22, 2021 with Fr. Richard Ulam, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will take place at 11am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery in Smithton, PA. In compliance with the CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only 20 people will be permitted at one time into the funeral home. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home and social distancing is required.
