Joan L. (Sell) Hildenbrand

Joan L. (Sell) Hildenbrand, 84, of Ruffsdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Hempfield Manor in Greensburg, PA. She was born November 6, 1937 in Old Stanton, PA (New Stanton). Daughter of the late Russell Stanley and Lorraine (Baughman) Sell. She graduated from the Youngwood High School Class of 1955; home of the Railroader’s. Joan was a long-time member of Downtown United Methodist Church in Madison, PA and a gold member at the Hempfield Hunt Club. She was a very hard worker; working alongside her husband in the fields spreading lime early in their marriage. And continued working on the family farm that was created from the little they had throughout her lifetime. Joan loved to laugh, have fun, socialize and travel; visiting Texas, Hawaii, Austria and Daytona, FL every winter in her later years. She enjoyed traveling in her camper and seeing the countryside. She had a very large garden and canned vegetables for the winter time. Every summer she would take her children to the local fairs and festivals in the area and watch her husband pull his tractor in the tractor pulls. She is preceded in death by her loving husband – Fred A. Hildenbrand and survived by three sons – Fred Hildenbrand and wife Tammy of Ruffsdale, PA, Danny Hildenbrand and wife Cynthia of Ruffsdale, PA and Russell J. Hildenbrand and wife Debbie of Connellsville, PA, grandchildren – Matt (Felicia) Hildenbrand, Nacole Hildenbrand, Julie (Jon) McGovern, Jill (Greg) Flower, Molly Hildenbrand and Fiancee Ryan Maha,  Russell A. Hildenbrand, great grandchildren – Amelia McGovern and Rhett Hildenbrand, one brother – Russell Sell and wife Phyllis of Youngwood, PA and one sister – Judy Sosko of Mt. Pleasant, PA. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 9 pm on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Mill Grove Cemetery, 661 Mt Pleasant Rd, West Newton, PA 15089.
