Joan C. (Fox) Stamm

Joan C. Fox Stamm, 87, of New Stanton, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. The oldest of the “Fox Girls” she was born on September 30, 1933 in Greensburg, PA to the late Willis H. and Elma V. Storey Fox. Many years after attending high school, Joan received certification in child care services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to retirement, Joan worked as a lunch lady at Hempfield High School and Child Care at Maplewood and Quigley. But the favorite child care was taking care of Nathan and Bethany Sann who always had a special place in her heart.  Joan was a member of Hempfield Hunt Club, Midway St. Clair Club and Turkeyfoot Fish and Game. Joan loved boating at Yough Dam, fishing, bingo, dominos and card games. Although she was had difficulty getting around easily, she never had those issues once she passed through the doors at any casino.  Joan had a wonderful sense of humor, an expert Wii bowler and loved to travel with family. She traveled to places including Las Vegas, Louisiana, Florida, Niagara Falls and Peterboro, Ontario where she watched the Ice Float races. She is preceded in death by both parents, her loving husband of 34 years and 1 day – Jack A. Stamm, one brother – Alan “Buck” Fox, three sisters – Marilyn DiNozzi, Connie Cyktor, Marsha Gaudi and one infant brother. She is survived by two daughters – Cindy L. Fletcher of New Stanton, PA and Deane Stamm of New Stanton, PA, one sister – Linda Basco of Hunker, PA, one brother-in-law – William “Sonny” Gaudi, one sister-in-law – Geraldine Fox and five grand dogs- Tipper, Tucker, Max, Riley and Cocoa. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA in charge of arrangements – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hunker Community Building in Hunker, PA. Followed by interment at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA.  All are welcome to come and share memories of Joan and her life.
