Joseph D. Perlick, 78, of Herminie, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home. He was born July 27, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Son of the late Nicholas A. and Stella R. (Rush) Perlick. Joe was a graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1962, and was on the football team as well as in marching band. Joe was a machinist for Westinghouse for many years and then went on to be a school bus driver for Penn Trafford School District for several years. Joe liked to tinker with rototillers and small equipment and enjoyed working in his large garden. Joe was a very devoted Catholic; saying the rosary every day and watching daily mass on television. Joe loved playing the accordion, listening to polkas as well as being a great dancer; attending many polka dances at the Slovenian Club in Yukon and Herminie. Joe enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie, Long Horn chew and was known to have a Stoney’s beer now and then. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years – Janice F. (Highberger) Perlick, two brothers – Nicholas and Anthony Perlick and one sister – Agnes Bigi. He is survived by two brothers – Harrold C. Perlick and wife Deborah R. of Pittsburgh, PA and David Perlick and wife Pamela of Sutersville, PA, two sisters – Josephine Lancoski of White Oak, PA and Mary Ann Humphery and husband Eugene of Riverview, FL and loving companions – Scratch and Harley. Friends will be received from 9:30 am – 11 am on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A memorial service will be held at 11 am at the funeral home with Fr. Bump officiating. A private interment will be held at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA at a later date yet to be announced. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home.
