Joseph R. Znidarsic

Joseph R. Znidarsic, 82, of Arona, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born January 6, 1939 in Yukon, PA, son of the late Joseph Znidarsic and Elizabeth (Masterlee) Znidarsic Hartung. He was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School Class of 1956. After graduation, Joe served in the Army during the Korean War. He then went on to work and retire from Wabtec Corporation as a molder. Joe was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 54 years – Shirley Mae (Shaffer) Znidarsic of Arona, PA, two daughters – Beth-Anne Znidarsic of Arona, PA and Gretchen Lyn (Jason) Fischer of North Huntingdon, PA, two granddaughters – Lane and Grace Fischer, one sister – Patricia (Fred) Koppenhaver of Punxsutawney, PA, close family friend – Jennifer (Phil) Rauch of Madison, PA, cherished nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs – Abby & Chloe. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 8 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Kruel officiating. Interment will be private on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in memory of Joe to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Masks are highly recommended to be worn while in the funeral home.
