Linda C. (Long) Sandin

Linda C. (Long) Sandin, 77, of Middletown, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, VA. She was born January 13, 1945 in Arona, PA. Daughter of the late Paul Alfred and Blanche Luella (Miller) Long. She attended and graduated from the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1962. She received her Associate’s degree in Accounting from WCCC in Youngwood, PA. She worked for and retired from Kensington Electric in Greensburg, PA as an accounting clerk. Linda was a six-year member of Advent Lutheran Church in Winchester, VA and a prior member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Arona, PA. She adored her children, Grand children and great grandchildren. She loved to read, was interested in history and was a big sports fan of the Steeler’s, Pirate’s and Penguin’s. She loved to cook, socialize with people and reminisce of family items and times. In her younger years, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, canning vegetables from her garden and dancing. She is preceded in death by both parents, loving husband of 4 years - Theodore E. “Ted” Sandin, step-daughter – Vicki Sandin, two brothers – William K. “Bill” Long, Melvin E. Long, sisters - Mary Alice Marquis and Dorothy DeMatteo and first husband - Donald P. Miller of 22 years. She is survived by her daughter – Melanie A. Proctor and husband Leo Jr. of Winchester, VA, son – William E. “Bill” Miller and significant other Rita of Hagerstown, MD, seven grandchildren – William E. “Will” Miller II, Joshua Miller, Stephanie L. Miller, Nicole Repp, Elizabeth J. Hoffmann, Naomi A. Hoffmann and Jacob Miller, three great grandchildren – Quentin, Abigail “Abby” and Levi, step children – Renae Sever, Jodene Sandin, Bonnie Gutch, Tad Sandin and Laurie Sandin-Breegle and numerous step great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 15, 2022 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Arona, PA with Pastor. L. Samuel Schiederer officiating. Interment will follow at Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA.
