Lois J. (Hoffman) Lauffer

Lois J. Lauffer, 88, of Irwin, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 15, 1934 in McKeesport, PA. Daughter of the late Frederick C. and Mary E. (Fothergill) Hoffman. Lois attended the former Sewickley Township High School. She was a 60+ year member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Irwin, PA and a Pleasant Ridge Homemaker’s Club member. Lois enjoyed canning, baking, crocheting, and shopping. She liked to garden and canned beans, peaches, tomatoes and froze corn for the winter months. She liked to watch Family Feud on the gameshow network. Lois worked the family dairy farm which delivered milk to Isaly’s. She is preceded in death by both parents; loving husband of 34 years, Donald D. Lauffer Sr.; daughter, Susan L. Crawford; brother, Fred C. Hoffman Jr. and sisters, Helen King and Ruth L. Barrowcliff. She is survived by son, Donald D. Lauffer (Marla) of Irwin, PA; daughters, Mary E. Chillinsky (James) of Irwin, PA and Carol Gross of Jeannette, PA; five grandchildren, Jennifer Carson, Donald Carson, Colleen Gross, Marissa Lauffer and Haley Lauffer; three great grandchildren, Emma, Kiearah and Alexander and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 – 3 pm and 5 – 7 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr. Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Countryman officiating. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Herminie, PA.
