Luther Dean Miller

Luther “Dean” Miller, 90, of New Stanton, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 4, 1933 in Madison, PA. Son of the late Paul J. and Blanche (Eisman) Miller. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Dean worked and retired from Frank Kukurin Co. as a Heavy Equipment Operator after 20+ years of service. He was an active member of the Hempfield Hunt Club and a lifetime member of St. Paul Seanor’s Church in New Stanton, PA. Dean was a very hard worker who enjoyed shooting the breeze with his friends and family. He enjoyed gardening, shooting pool, watching Army and Western’s on television and listening and dancing to polka music. He is preceded in death by both parents; loving wife of 63 years, Margaret (Peterson) Miller; brothers, Lewis Miller, Earl Miller, Robert D. Miller, Paul J. Miller Jr., Willis R. Miller and Tommy Miller; sisters, Dorothy McWilliams, Donna Fawcett, Irene Weibel, Rosella Shindehite, Helen Connolly and Betty Beranek. He is survived by sons, Dean E. (significant other, Susan Confer) Miller of Grapeville, PA and Edward L. (significant other, Karen Stillitano) Miller of Jeannette, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 - 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Henck officiating. Interment will follow at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA with full Military Honors with the Armbrust Veterans accorded.
