Marlene M. (Hopkinson) Hileman

Marlene M. (Hopkinson) Hileman, 82, of Herminie, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 28, 1940 in Herminie, PA. Daughter of the late John and Clara (Vorech) Hopkinson. She was a graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1958. Marlene was a seamstress and co-owned a dry-cleaning business, “Janene’s Dry Cleaning and Sewing,” with her sister, Janet Perin, for over 35 years. Marlene enjoyed riding her BMW motorcycle and was an event director with her husband for the BMW Owners Association of Pittsburgh, in which she was known as the “BMW Queen.” She drove over 200k miles and was known as “Cutty Pipe” on the CB. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Wayne, and rode through 44 states, Canada and Mexico all by motorcycle. She loved to watch NFL football; especially the Minnesota Viking’s. She liked to watch movies, read, enjoyed keeping a clean home and sunbathing in her pool. She met her husband at her grandparents dry cleaning business in Herminie, PA and had their first date and honeymoon at Kennywood Park. She is preceded in death by both parents; son, Wayne “Duke” Hileman; brother, James Hopkinson and sister, Clara Jerina. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Wayne M. Hileman, of Herminie, PA; one daughter, Dorothe E. Gambrell (Michael) of West Newton, PA; granddaughter, Christine Shields; brother, John Hopkinson III (Kay) of Level Green, PA; sisters, Janet Perin (Frank) of Irwin, PA and Linda Nogy (Kevin) of Mendon, PA; “adopted” daughter, Debbie Morrell (Art) of N. Huntingdon, PA and loving companion, Bit Bit. A private visitation will be held at Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A public graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA with Rev. Randy Sweet as celebrant. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service is asked to go directly to the cemetery - 150 East Side Dr. Greensburg, PA 15601.
