Martin P. “Marty” Spisak, 71, of West Newton, PA, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home. He was born February 13, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Son of the late Martin P. Spisak, Jr. and Helen (Urban) Spisak. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1970 and earned a degree in Drafting at ACCC. Marty was a 13-year member of Life Church (which he helped to build) in Greensburg, PA. He was proud to be a sheet metal worker for 30+ years at HL Thomas, Local 12. He drove ambulance for Norvelt VFD and he loved to talk about both. Marty was truly an honorable man, excellent at woodworking; he built his dream home, presents for every occasion for his wife & children, and carved birds of all kinds. He had a quirky sense of humor and loved nature, ducks, the outdoors and was happy to help anyone who needed a hand. His hobbies included hunting, making wine, walks on the beach, canning, gardening and he was an excellent exaggerated story teller. As President of The Steel City Oilers, he shared a passion for educating people on how to use essential oils with Donalyn. He is preceded in death by both parents and Jacob Peffer (Brother in Law) and survived by his loving wife of 33 years – Donalyn (Leskosek) Spisak of West Newton, PA; son, Scott (Jennifer) Spisak of Acme, PA; daughters, Jaime Renee (Russ) of West Newton, PA and Shannon (fiancé Mark Sporatto) Spisak of Ft. Allen, PA; five grandchildren, Travis Wieland, Emily Brown, Alexis Wieland, Brooke Wieland, Russell (JR) Wieland and sisters, Patty (Dick) Goulding of Springertown, PA, Carol (Dennis) Mizikar of Mammoth, PA and Barb (Mike) Kohl of Greensburg, PA. Friends will be received from 4 pm – 8 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Marty’s home for a true celebration of a life well lived. If you knew him and want to be a part of his celebration of life, you are welcome to come share in this informal gathering honoring and remembering. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm at his residence with Chuck Brockoff as celebrant. Interment will be private. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc.
