Mary Ann (Nabuda) Icardi

Mary Ann (Nabuda) Icardi, 83, of Irwin, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Independence Health System in Greensburg, PA.  She was born September 15, 1939 in Trafford, PA, and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Summers) Nabuda. She graduated from Trafford High School Class of 1957. She was an Honor student and received a handwriting award she was very proud of. She also was part of the “Homemaker of Tomorrow” group which was a scholarship program provided through Betty Crocker. Mary Ann was a lifetime member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and volunteered in their administrative office during and after her daughter’s schooling there. She worked as a secretary for Rockwell Manufacturing, then as a secretary for Elliott Company, and finally worked for Westinghouse as a Word Processor. Mary Ann had a unique gift for accounting, spelling, and typing. She enjoyed traveling, macrame, latch hook, and crafting. She was a great cook and baker; making stuffed cabbage, roast, and halushki that her family loved, as well as many treats, cookies, and nut rolls during Christmastime. Mary Ann was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by both parents; brother, John Nabuda, and brother, Bill Houk. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William W. Icardi; daughter, Kelly (Colin) Sullivan of Colorado, and grandchildren, Katie, Sean, Ella, and Kieran. A private visitation will take place at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A private blessing service will take place at the funeral home with Deacon Bob Stauffer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in North Versailles, PA.
