Melvin D. Williams Jr., 71, of Madison, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born May 16, 1951 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Son of the late Melvin D. Sr. and Hazel A. (Walt) Williams. Melvin was a graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1969. Melvin was a member of the Downtown United Methodist Church in Madison, PA. Melvin worked and retired from the Union Railroad after 30+ years of service; starting as a car repairman and ending in management. He was a member of the Irwin Country Club, as well as the Loyal Order of Moose #236 where he served as an officer. Melvin was a hardworking man who enjoyed model trains, baseball cards and taking care of his plants in and out of the home. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching baseball. In his younger years, he played baseball and coached a boy’s baseball team. He began his love of antique cars when building a gray 35 Ford with his father; enjoying spending time together going to antique car shows. He is preceded in death by both parents and survived by his loving wife of 31 years – Karen J. (Hodgens) Williams of Madison, PA, one son – Jon Removcik and wife Melissa of Bethel Park, PA, two grandchildren – John and Garrett Removcik, sister-in-law - Patricia Martin and husband Allan of Irwin, PA and furbaby Freddy. Friends will be received from 2 – 7 pm on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Sweet officiating. Interment will follow at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA.
