Michelle A. (Waryanka) Vilchek

Michelle A. (Waryanka) Vilchek, 51, of West Newton, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023 at her home after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born February 16, 1972 in Jeannette, PA. Daughter of the late Mike and Veronica (Labonich) Waryanka. She graduated from Yough Senior High School Class of 1991. She then went on to receive her BS in Nursing from Carlow College. Michelle loved her job as a pediatric nurse. She worked for over 29 years at several hospitals and ended her career at East Liberty Family Health Care Center. She was an active member in St. Basil the Great Russian Orthodox Church; participating in many bake sales making perogies and orthodox food. Michelle adored her children and enjoyed driving all over the country with her husband to watch them all play soccer in high school and college. Her greatest joy was getting to meet her granddaughter, Sophie Mae. In her younger years, she enjoyed attending polka dances with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her loving husband of 28 years, David T. Vilchek of West Newton, PA; children, David (Hannah) Vilchek of Sutersville, PA, Alexander (fiancé Isabelle) Vilchek of Fairmont, WV and Natalie Vilchek of West Newton, PA; granddaughter, Sophie Mae Vilchek; brothers, Michael (Debbie) Waryanka of Grove City, PA and Nicholas Waryanka of Gibsonia, PA and nieces and newphews, Andrew, Alysa, Abigail, Zachary and Kira. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Monday, August 14, 2023 and Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A Pomen Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the funeral home. A Devine liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at St. Basil The Great Russian Orthodox Church with Fr. Joseph Ramonchack as celebrant. Anyone wishing to attend the Devine liturgy is asked to go directly to the church, 1449 Ridge Rd. Belle Vernon, PA 15012. A graveside burial will take place at the West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, PA.
