Nancy P. (Shaffer) Brandstetter, 79, of Irwin, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 12, 1944 in Arona, PA. Daughter of the late Nicholas and Pearl E. (Exton) Shaffer. She graduated from Hempfield High School Class of 1962, during which she worked as a candy striper at Westmoreland Hospital. After graduation, she lived in Orlando, FL for a year. Nancy was a loving mother to her son and daughters. She was everything her children needed and was the glue that held everyone together. She was a very hard worker, had a great sense of humor and loved Elvis. Nancy loved to bake. She made dozens of Christmas cookies, along with nut rolls for all her friends and family. She loved watching and discussing sports, was an avid reader and a true believer in information received from Alexa. She is preceded in death by both parents and twin infant baby brother. She is survived by loving husband of 54 years, Melvin K. Brandstetter; son, Aaron L. (fiancé Leslie) Brandstetter of Morgantown, WV; daughters, Sherry R. (Michael) Lackey of Yukon, PA and Melissa S. Brandstetter of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Dakotah (Kenzie Johnson) Lackey, Kaleb Lackey, Cooper Lackey and Jackson Brandstetter; step-grandson, Mason Scott and sisters, Shirley (Joseph) Znidarsic of Arona, PA, Darla (Chaz) Stauffer of Harrison City, PA and Pam (Ron) Brooks of Greensburg, PA. Friends will be received from 3 pm – 7 pm on Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the funeral home with Rev. Phil M. Lavery. Interment will be private.
