Panfield J. “Panny or Dino” DiNicola III, 78, of Greensburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Hempfield Manor in Greensburg, PA. He was born May 26, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Son of the late Panfield J. and Mary M. (Tesauro) DiNicola. He graduated from Ramsey High School Class of 1963; where he played trumpet and accordion in the high school band. As well as, attending Berkley School of Music in Boston Conservatory for 2 years. Panny was a member of Word of Life Church in Greensburg, PA for over 10 years. After graduation, Panny worked at the family restaurant, the “Roma Room”, where he met the love of his life, Bonnie. As well as, giving trumpet, accordion and guitar lessons at his family home. Panny served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was Entertainment under General Westmoreland for 3 years as 1st trumpet in the traveling military band. He also was part of the army chorus and sang with many people, including the popular Anita Bryant. After marrying the love of his life, Bonnie L. (Walt) DiNicola, they began their business adventure by opening Mt. Pleasant Music Center in Mt. Pleasant, PA. They gave music lessons and sold instruments for over 13 years. He established Panny’s Discount Music after his first music store where he installed car stereos, custom speaker cabinets and installations. They owned a pizza shop in Republic, PA, California, PA and “Dino’s” in Mt. Pleasant, PA and “Dino’s Fine Jewelry” in Greensburg, PA. Panny was a man of heart and soul who loved to socialize with people. Music and food were a gift in his life and he loved to share his knowledge and love of them with his family and friends. He always tried to lead people to the Lord and always had a deep faith in Jesus. Panny was always with his wife and he loved life! He loved going out to eat, going to the movies and the summertime family tradition of weekly family get togethers. He is preceded in death by both parents and sister Mary Louise “Weezie” (DiNicola) Sansone. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bonnie L. (Walt) DiNicola of Greensburg, PA; son, Panfield (Nancy) DiNicola IV of Franklin Park, PA; daughter, Lisa (Scott) Boytim of Ruffsdale, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew, Brooke, Nicolas, Colton and Panfilo A.; four great grandchildren, Chase, Noah, River and Nico; nieces, Angela (Ron) Fox, Gina (Joe) Mussori; nephew, Anthony (Monica) Sansone and great nieces and nephews, Izzy (Tyler), Ayden, Mario, Bonino and Juliana. A visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Curt Detar officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Panny’s name to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
