Ralph "Buzz" E. Lee Jr.

Ralph E. “Buzz” Lee Jr., 82, of Madison, PA, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, PA. He was born May 27, 1939 in Wendel, PA. Son of the late Ralph E. Sr. and Virginia P. (Conard) Lee. Ralph attended Hempfield High School and then went on to serve as a cook in the National Guard. Ralph worked for Mack Truck Garage, Sabres and then worked and retired from PennDot as a heavy equipment mechanic after 20+ years of service. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very hard worker and always took care of his family. He enjoyed sitting in his garage, walking the alley daily, watching Westerns; especially GunSmoke and was fond of pudding pops and milkshakes. He was a wood worker; creating lawn ornaments and cabinets for the home. He enjoyed hunting and fishing on his in-law’s property, Indian Lake Park and Twin Lakes Park; taking many fishing trips with his family to Lake Erie. As well as, renting a boat house for a summer family trip. He loved riding his Spyder Can-Am trike; attending bike rallies in Gettysburg and Maryland with his family. He is preceded in death by both parents, loving wife - Jean Lee and one brother – David W. Lee. He is survived by three daughters - Gloria J. Lee of Madison, PA, Virginia Kaye Kerlin of Jeannette, PA and Betty Jean Swain and husband Rich of Siler City, NC, one son – Butch Lee and wife Tammy of Graham, NC, one sister – Danine Heider of Greensburg, PA, eight grandchildren – Rachel, Kenny, David, Amanda, Kyle, Ashley, Amy, Austin and six great grandchildren – Travon, Bailey, Lucas, Cameron, Peyton and Jahmi. Friends will be received from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Green officiating. Interment will follow at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA.
