Rev. James H. Ghrist

Rev. James H. Ghrist, 85, of Export, Pa. died Friday May 3, 2019 at Murrysville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Murrysville, Pa surrounded by his family. He was born October 5, 1933 in Greensburg, Pa. Son of the late Clark Colman and Bertha Smith Ghrist. James was a member of St. Paul’s Seanor Church in New Stanton, Pa. and also the Jeannette Masonic Lodge #750. In Jim’s earlier years, he loved square dancing where he met the love of his life Virginia. He enjoyed playing the organ and he absolutely loved the ministry. He would often preach at St. Paul’s Seanor Church, the former Grace United in Yukon, Pa. as well as various other churches in the area. He is preceded in death by both parents and a grandson – Brandon Berggren. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia L. Kemerer Ghrist of Export, Pa., a son – James H. Ghrist of Export, Pa., two daughters – Cheryl L. Hines and husband Barry of Export, Pa. and Caryl L. Berggren and husband Ken of Plum, Pa. and four grandchildren – Craig, Kyle, Bryan and Rachel. Friends will be received from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 in Madison, Pa., followed by services at 12:30 pm at the funeral home with John Kautz as celebrant. A private interment will follow at the Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont, Pa.
