Robert F. Sethman

Robert F. Sethman, 80, of Ruffsdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2023 at his home. He was born September 24, 1942 in Ruffsdale, PA. Son of the late Robert J. and Isabel Mae (Hindmarsh) Sethman. He graduated from SS Gressly Memorial School Class of 1960, where he learned hands on cabinet making. He then went on to work with his brother-in-law in MD constructing homes. After several years, he moved back to PA with his family and was self-employed as a carpenter for Sethman & Sons for 40+ years. Bob was a member of United Church of God in Pittsburgh, PA for many years. He was born and raised on the family farm; plowing the fields with a team of Clydesdale horses, milking cows and raising pigs. Bob’s love language was quality time with his family. He shared his love of traveling with his children by visiting all the States on the east coast in a self-built camper that fit on the back of his truck. He enjoyed raising beef cattle, chickens and turkey on his farm with his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Joyce. Bob loved watching Andy Griffith and listening to Johnny Cash. He is preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Ron Sethman; four sisters, Judy Sethman, Evelyn Shipley, Margaret Sethman, Eileen Kuchar and infant sister, Ruthie. He is survived by one daughter, Stacie Lynn (Sam) Bauer of Eighty Four, PA; three sons, Dave (Cassie) Sethman of Ruffsdale, PA, Robert (Tracey) Sethman of Sewickley, PA and Sam Sethman of Ruffsdale, PA; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, David (Linda) Sethman of Saltsburg, PA and lifelong friend, Joyce Eileen Sethman of West Newton, PA. A private visitation will be held at Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A graveside service will take place at 12:30 pm on Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA with Pastor Blaney Sproul officiating. Interment will follow.
