Roger K. Black

Roger K. Black, 64, of Greensburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Excela Latrobe Hospital in Latrobe, PA surrounded by his family. He was born September 2, 1958 in Oil City, PA. Son of the late Avonille M. (Black) Dunmire. Roger attended the former Sewickley Township High School then went on to work as a laborer in the construction industry for over 30 years. He loved softball and enjoyed watching the Steeler’s and Pirate’s on television. In his younger years, Roger played pony league baseball at the Lion’s Club Field in Yukon, PA. He loved to shoot pool, fishing in Jacob’s Creek and listening to 70’s and 80’s rock. He is preceded in death by his mother and survived by his son, Joshua M. Black (Penny) of Scottdale, PA; brothers, Rodney Dunmire of Greensburg, PA, Robert Dunmire of Wyles, PA and Ron F. Bowman (Kimberly) of Greensburg, PA; sisters, Lynda Dunmire of Wyles, PA, Leslie Dunmire (Bob) of Wyles, PA, and MariAnn Shaffer (Doug) of Ruffsdale, PA. Nieces Dakota Dunmire and Hailey Bowman, Nephews Ryan Dunmire and Aidan Shaffer a very special aunt, Shirley L. Black of Greensburg, PA. Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA in charge of services – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 13, 2023 in the chapel at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA with Pastor Victor Kochar officiating. A private entombment will follow.
