Steven C. Greenawalt

Steven C. Greenawalt, 47 of Smithton PA passed away Friday, February 18th 2022 at his home. He was surrounded by family after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. He was born December 10th 1974 in Greensburg. Steve was the son of Wreford Jr. and Linda (Falatovich) Greenawalt. He was a 1993 graduate of Yough Sr. High School where he lettered in wrestling. Steve had a passion for cooking and was employed at various restaurants over the years. He had a flare for grilling and it gave him immense joy when he was able to do so for friends and family. Steve also loved animals and recently helped out at Branthoover’s dairy farm. Steve was known for his sense of humor, he lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent most of his free time hiking, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed reading and movies, horror being his favorite genre. Steve was a kid at heart. He enjoyed a close bond with niece, nephews and fiancés daughter and shared many adventures with them. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Wreford Sr. and Jean Greenawalt of West Newton, his maternal grandparents Steve and Dorothy Falatovich of Jeannette and his father Wreford Greenawalt Jr. of Smithton. Steve is survived by his mother Linda (Falatovich) Greenawalt of Smithton, his fiancé Elizabeth Stahl of Somerset, a brother Wade Greenawalt of Smithton and his wife Jenny, a sister Jennifer Lynn and husband Darrin of Smithton, three nephews, Nickolas, Kody and Kyle Lynn, a niece Brooke Greenawalt and a step daughter Kaity Stahl, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins and his faithful companion Gus. Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, February 22nd 2022 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home located on Route 136 in Madison, PA. Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at the funeral home with the Reverend Randy Sweet officiating. A private interment will follow at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA. The family asks that you join them for a Celebration of Life in honor of Steve after the service at Smithton VFD social hall located at 609 Center Street in Smithton, PA 15479.
