Theresa B. Leskosek Rupert, 97, of West Newton, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Greensburg Care Center in Greensburg, PA. She was born September 5, 1923 in Yukon, PA. Daughter of the late Michael and Frances Skerbetz Leskosek. Theresa attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of The Advancement of the Deaf and the Westmoreland Community Deaf Services. Theresa lost her hearing at a very young age but always noted that she could still hear her father play the accordion. Theresa was a very hard worker. Throughout her life she worked as a housekeeper for the International Paper Factory, Menasha, Westmoreland Food Bank as well as several private homes. Theresa liked to sew, crochet, work in the garden and can. She was an excellent baker and cook and was famous for her fondant Easter eggs. She enjoyed picking apples from her apple trees and sharing them with her family. She was a lover of coffee and fuzzy navels. Theresa loved to spend time with her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards and taught her grandchildren how to play with her. She is preceded in death by her husband – Bruce A. Rupert Sr., one son – Bruce A. Rupert Jr., one daughter – May Rupert, three brothers – Michael “Mikey” Leskosek, Leopold Leskosek and Melvin Leskosek and one sister – Dorothy Hyrczyk. She is survived by one son – Homer Rupert of West Newton, PA, two daughters – Vesta Kocinski and husband Ed of Madison, PA and Mary Krautz and husband Daniel of New Stanton, PA, two brothers – Donald Leskosek of West Newton, PA and Michael Leskosek and wife Dorothy of Smicksburg, PA, one daughter-in-law – Patricia Rupert of Ruffsdale, PA, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA – Ronald A. Rich Jr. Supervisor/FD. Anyone wishing to attend the visitation is asked to stay in their vehicle until a funeral home attendant escorts you inside the funeral home. A private service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Wess Johnson officiating followed by a private interment at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA. Masks are required to be worn at all times while in the funeral home and social distancing is required.
