Virginia L. Kemerer Ghrist, 89, of Export, PA passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Murrysville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. She was born April 6, 1930 in Salem Township. Daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel E. McKeever Kemerer. Virginia was a member of St. Paul Seanor Church in New Stanton, PA. Virginia was a graduate of the former Greensburg High School class of 1947. In her younger years, she worked on her family farm with her brothers raising chickens, cows and pigs, along with working in the corn fields. She was a true farm girl, loved being outside and fed hummingbirds outside her home daily. For many years she cleaned for the family business – G&G Cleaning. She was a big huge fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. In Virginia’s earlier years, she loved square dancing where she met the love of her life James. They would go on yearly trips to places such as Disney World and Arizona. She is preceded in death by both parents, her loving husband of 66 years – Rev. James H. Ghrist, three brothers – Earl, Glenn and Carl Kemerer, one grandson – Brandon Berggren and a sister-in-law – Ann Kemerer. She is survived by one son – James H. Ghrist of Export, PA, two daughters – Cheryl L. Hines and husband Barry of Export, PA and Caryl L. Berggren and husband Ken of Plum, PA and four grandchildren – Craig, Kyle, Bryan and Rachel. There will be a private visitation and service at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA, Ronald A. Rich Sr. Sup., Ronald A. Rich Jr., FD. Private interment will take place at the Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont, PA.
