William Malik Obituary

 

 

William A. Malik, 90, of West Newton, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Independence Health in Greensburg, PA surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 28, 1933 in Wendel, PA. Son of the late Frank J. and Frances (Chesky) Malik. He graduated from the former Sewickley Township High School Class of 1951 where he played football, basketball and baseball. As well as being involved in the Agriculture Education program. After graduation, he was on the American Legion Baseball team and tried out for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Brooklyn Dodgers. William worked as a school bus driver for 20+ years and especially enjoyed working additional shifts transporting students to away games. He then worked and retired from Yough School District as a Transportation Supervisor after 15 years of service. All while taking care of the family dairy farm with his loving wife and being active with his children. He was a very hard worker and was an active 4H Leader and County Fair Board member. William was an active 60+ year member of Norwin Church of the Nazarene in Circleville, PA. He traveled over 38 countries with his wife and had the privilege of shaking the Queen of England’s hand. He is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Chuck, Frank and Adam Malik and sister, Frances Malik. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Iona G. (Albright) Malik of West Newton, PA; sons, Ronald W. (Pat) Malik of IL and Roy A. Malik of West Newton, PA; daughter, Nancy L. (Scott) Metzger of South Park, PA; grandchildren, Caleb (Alex) Malik and Jacob Malik and great grandchild, Parker. Friends will be received from 2 – 8 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. A private interment will take place at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA.
