Zachery Michael Hoerner

Zachery Michael Hoerner, 17, of West Newton, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 29, 2004 in Butler, PA. Son of Josh E. Balocik. Zachary attended the Sewickley Institute in Sewickley, PA and the Clairview School in Greensburg, PA. Zachery was born with special needs and was wheelchair bound his entire life. He never let that be a deterrent. He enjoyed so many things in life. He loved school and his friends. He would be so happy to see everyone on Monday but by the end of the week he wanted the weekend. Each year his school would have a Halloween party and a costume contest. His costumes were always outrageous and adorable. He loved the school dances, functions and participated as much as possible. Even getting asked to the prom. Zachery was fascinated by the world. Though the ocean was too far he did get to go to Lake Erie and was able to enjoy the beach. Over the last few years Zachery went fishing and took many walks on the Gap Trail. He attended many Pittsburgh Pirate games and went to the zoo numerous times. He loved going to the movie theater and had a full and happy life. He is survived by his father and paternal grandparents – Bonnie J. (Gold) Krevokuch and husband Dennis of West Newton, PA. Great Grandmother Helen Murphy and Great Grand Parents Joan and Paul Krevokuch. And uncles Dennis and Paul. A memorial service will be held at a date yet to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Zachary’s name to Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224. The family would like to thank Carol May and the staff at Children’s Hospital, as well as the staff at Clairview School for the compassionate care provided to Zachary.
